A queer creative, writer, artist, poet, witch, activist and founder of Creative Being, a platform and community using creativity to inspire change and amplify marginalised voices.

Indigo Moon is a queer creative, writer, artist, poet, witch and activist who specialises in nature and environmental writing, wildlife conservation, spiritual healing, LGBTQ+ and animal rights. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a Master of Arts in Environmental Humanities.

“My masters was an interdisciplinary course that involved exploring, ethics, religion, anthropology, and the humanities from an environmental perspective. It challenged my values and pushed my creative expression. For my creative project, I created a poetry collection that was from my grandmother’s perspective to showcase how the natural world has changed throughout her lifetime since 1922.

“These creative challenges inspired me to create Creative Being, an online platform and community that uses creativity to inspire positive change and amplify marginalised voices. I started the platform during the first lockdown here in the UK as a way to volunteer and develop my activism. I am blessed to interview artists, writers and activists.”

Indigo is one of our members featuring their work as part of the ClimateCultures Quarantine Connection series. We shared her poem, Into the Frozen, on Day 16 of the 40-day series.
