An historian of air studying how humans have tried to understand the atmosphere, working with media and museums to tell compelling stories grounded in archival documents.

I'm an historian of air, studying the ways that humans have lived in and tried to understand the atmosphere. I write about air's histories at Picturing Meteorology.

I've been employed as a professor, researcher, and writer, sometimes working with media and museum professionals to tell compelling stories richly grounded in archival documents. As a translational historian, I seek to help others make sense of their own histories of the atmosphere.
