A sculptor, researcher and curator whose work explores the fragility of natural forms and notions of permanence, ephemerality, our relationship with the planet and the Anthropocene.

I am a sculptor, researcher and curator whose work explores the fragility of natural forms within an increasingly threatened global environment, questioning notions of permanence and ephemerality, our relationship with the planet and the demands and impact of the Anthropocene.

My work currently looks to heritage Japanese Washi paper as a sustainably grown and produced material to explore as a contemporary low carbon sculpting medium. I am increasingly committed to developing work that is sustainable and promotes material circular economies.

Through a recently funded research trip to Japan from The Daiwa Foundation, The Great British Sasakawa Foundation and with support from the University of London Knowledge Exchange programme, I have been able to fully explore the sustainable farming, harvesting and production of traditionally produced Washi paper in localised heritage areas of Japan such as Mino, Echizen, Ino Shikoku Island first hand.

As a result of the trip, in addition to developing and producing ongoing sculptural work as a response to the research, I am currently working on the curation of an Anglo-Japanese-US exhibition in London, in August 2026 of six of the artists and crafts people I met whilst there. I am honoured that all of the artists involved are now coming to the UK, to converge in London for the exhibition.
